Recently, it seemed that every newspaper and television station in Pennsylvania covered the story of a train carrying several GOP lawmakers that crashed. While certainly newsworthy, it would be easy to overlook the less-famous victims of the crash -- the members of the Time Disposal crew whose truck was struck. The train accident happened on a day in late January. According to reports, the train involved was transporting lawmakers to a retreat. Unfortunately, a garbage truck was struck by the train.
Witnesses claim that operators of the train used the train's horn to sound what was described as a prolonged warning. Despite this, the train slammed into the truck at 61 miles per hours. The impact caused the truck to flip with some reports indicating that it was ripped almost in two. A 28-year-old man in the truck died, allegedly despite the lifesaving efforts of doctors who were on the train. Six other people were injured.
