For many workers in Pennsylvania and other areas of the countries, even a relatively simple work-related task can have certain associated risks. Unfortunately, Workplace Accidents can leave families struggling both financially and emotionally. A family in another state is likely still working to come to terms with the news that their loved died in an agricultural accident.
The incident that led to the man's death happened one night in late September. Reports indicate that the 33-year-old victim was attempting to unload a potato truck at the time of the accident. According the reports, his clothes became tangled in the conveyor belt attached to the system.
Other workers at the scene were able to remove the clothing from the man. They then provided CPR to the victim until emergency responders arrived at the scene. Despite the efforts of both rescue workers and the victim's coworkers, he passed away as a result of injuries suffered in the accident. Both the local coroner's and sheriff's offices are investigating the incident.
Most employers have certain procedures in place intended to prevent workplace accidents. Unfortunately, risks can arise in unexpected places and cause harm to workers.
