All workplaces hold some degree of risk. Most employers in Pennsylvania take measures to prevent Workplace Accidents, but accidents can still occur despite their efforts. Unfortunately, one man recently lost his life in a farm accident that happened in another state.
The incident happened on a day in mid-July. According to reports, he was attempting to remove a tarp covering a pile of silage and the tires holding the tarp down. When he stepped down from the pile to pick up the tires, the silage pile reportedly collapsed on him.
Rescue worker were called to the scene at approximately 9 a.m., and deputies found the victim at the scene, unconscious. While emergency responders were able to revive him temporarily, he ultimately passed away as a result of his injuries. While an autopsy has been conducted, the report has not been completed to confirm the cause of death. However, officials say that the incident appears to be an industrial accident. Community members are trying to help his wife and child by raising funds through an online fundraiser.
