Employees in all industries in Pennsylvania and across the country work hard to observe all safety regulations. They do so to ensure both their personal safety as well as the safety of their co-workers. Despite these efforts, however, an industrial accident can still occur.
In fact, there are still many unanswered questions following a recent incident in another state. Rescue workers were called to the scene of a metal fabrication company, Industrial Metal Products, just before 9:30 a.m. on a day in June. Reports indicate that a 26-year-old man was pinned in a piece of machinery.
Reports indicate that when first responders arrived, the man was suffering from life-threatening injuries. Crews worked for approximately an hour to extricate the worker. Though reports indicate that he was conscious and talking upon the arrival of rescue crews, he ultimately passed away as a result of injuries suffered in the incident. The incident remains under investigation by multiple organizations.
No family is every prepared for the news of the unexpected death of a loved one. While the emotional implications of such a loss are clear, many families who lose a loved one in an industrial accident will also suffer financially as a result of lost wages and funeral expenses. Because of this, employers in Pennsylvania and across the country are required to provide workers' compensation insurance coverage. Because the process can be difficult in the best of circumstances, those coping with the death of a loved one often seek guidance from a professional with experience with the process.
