From the moment he wakes and consistently throughout his day, Mitch Dugan is fighting for the check his clients deserve. It is his first true love. He is passionate about helping his clients who are injured at work, on the road, or elsewhere. Mitch does have other loves though. Below are the top four right behind his client advocacy.
Like the Animal Friends organization in Pittsburgh, Mitch Dugan believes in a humane and compassionate future for all our animal friends. He volunteers his time and helps bring attention to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of animals in crisis by the Animal Friends. He celebrates and nurtures the animal-human bond in our Pittsburgh community.
Every year Mitch organizes and leads a team for the annual Take Steps Walk here in Pittsburgh. In 2022, the walk raised over $250K and the Dugan team exceeded their own goal as well. Mitch is personally connected to the disease and admires Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s research, educational, support services, and advocacy efforts.
Whether it is participating in the Rotary Club of Green Tree or conducting his annual college scholarship contest, Mitch enjoys supporting his community.
With the assistance of his fellow Green Tree Rotarians, Mitch assembled and distributed over 200 Easter baskets for shut-ins identified by the Pastors of local churches.
Mitch awards Laura Bowden with the 2021 Dugan & Associates Essay Competition Scholarship. When provided the prompt: “Mitch Dugan fights for the check you deserve, what do you fight for or aspire to fight for?”, Laura submitted a compelling essay on why she fights for music.
What helps Mitch fight the insurance companies every day and vigorously advocate for his clients consistently? Staying fit and mentally acute. This is why he is passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and participates in training weekly.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is an excellent full-body workout. It is martial art and combat sport based on ground fighting. It focuses on the skill of taking an opponent to the ground, controlling them, gaining a dominant position, and using a number of techniques to force them into submission. The sport combines strength, cardio, and problem solving, improves mental toughness, and stimulates physiology. It is the perfect sport to help Mitch argue on behalf of his clients each day, helping them obtain the compensation and benefits they deserve.
Rescuing animals, fighting Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis, supporting his Pittsburgh community directly and through Rotary International, and practicing Jiu-Jitsu are all things Mitch loves. Nevertheless, his primary passion is assisting his clients through bad situations and helping them get the money or benefits that will make things right. So, if you’re injured at work, on the road, or elsewhere, call Mitch. He’ll make the D-U-G-A-N fist ✊ for you too.
