Those who work in the field of construction in Pennsylvania and across the country face multiple, and often unique, risks. As many work at great heights, they could face the risk of a fall. In fact, a man in another state recently passed away after he reportedly fell from a ladder at a job site.
The incident allegedly happened at a site that is said to have been undergoing renovations. A volunteer fire company initially responded to the scene but called for additional help soon after arriving. It was later determined that the victim fell approximately 20 feet off a ladder, becoming trapped between an elevator counterweight and a wall.
Initial emergency responders asked for additional resources to assist with a confined space rescue. Once help arrived, the man was extricated in approximately 15 minutes. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation by multiple organizations.
